COME CAMP WITH US ON THE BIG BLUE RIVER

Located in the heart of cave country in Milltown, Indiana, Blue River Camping is nestled between the Southern Railway and the Big Blue River just 1 mile upstream from Cave Country Canoes, and the dam take out point for their seven mile canoe trip.  Blue River Camping offers a half mile of river frontage on the beautiful Millpond area of the Blue River which averages water depths of between 5 to 12 ft. deep.

This beautiful river is Indiana’s first designated scenic river way, is fed by more springs than any other Indiana waterway, and is home to a wide variety or wildlife. Sometimes it comes in the form of canoer’s, however, Sightings of Deer, River Otter, Beaver, Hellbenders, Turtles, Mussels, Crayfish, Turkey, Geese, Ducks, Great Blue Herons, Hawks, Falcons, and the occasional Bald Eagle are always possible.

There are a wide variety of fish as well, with the most common species being Small Mouth and Large Mouth Bass, Rock Bass, Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, Bluegill & Sun Fish Crappie, Cat Fish & Carp.  All fisherfolk must have a Indiana state fishing license and all Indiana fishing regulations apply.

You’re welcome to bring your own canoe, kayak, or other lightweight portable boat. Public Access Sites are located nearby for you to put in.  If you are looking to relax with friends or just get away with the family, you will find Blue River Camping a great retreat.
