While enjoying your stay here at Blue River Camping you can take advantage of the following attractions located close to our campground:
Several U.S. National Landmarks are close by. Marengo is the closest, just being about 5 miles away. Marengo Cave was discovered in 1883 and was designated by the Dept. of the Interior as “the most profusely decorated cavern with speleothems of the highest quality”. Marengo Cave offers gemstone mining, a 3000sq. Ft. gift shop, cave simulator, hiking, picnicking, and cave tours.
Squire Boone Caverns, discovered by Squire and Daniel Boone in 1790 is about 20 minutes away in Corydon. Squire Boone Caverns is an Indiana Historic Site, and is designated an AAA Travel Treasure. They have a working mill that was created by Boone in 1804 and authentic log cabin shops. They have a welcome center and Candy Factory, offer gem mining, and cave tours, etc.
Wyandotte Caves ,which are nestled in the hills of the Harrison-Crawford State Forest is about 25 minutes away in Leavenworth. Wyandotte caves is another U.S. National Landmark. It was discovered in 1850 and offers 2 great caves in one scenic location. Historic Wyandotte and Siberts Cave.
Pizza and other items are within walking distance in Milltown. Maxine’s Grocery & Pizza is closest, followed by Uncle Will’s Pizza, The Blue River Café, and The Milltown Mini-Mart. Most business close early in Milltown, so plan ahead and we’ll see ya soon.
